As your Elk Grove Macaroni Kid Publisher, connecting with local businesses is my game! I am all about supporting small businesses being one myself for many years. I live the struggles and breathe the rewards of entrepreneurship. So when I met the mom-and-daughter duo behind Sophie's Sweets (my now most favorite brand of French Macarons, btw) I was instantly moved and knew I had to do something to help encourage this young lady to continue doing what she loves because her product tastes absolute heaven! So without further ado, please meet Sofie, our very first MKEG Local Kid Entrepreneur.
Hi there! I am Sophie from Sophie's Sweets. I am 11 years old who really loves to bake!
My mom and I started baking together 6 yrs ago, but just started Sophie’s Sweets in October 2019! We bake tons of things like banana bread, chocolate crinkle cookies, oatmeal raisins, and chocolate chip cookies. However, our bestseller and my favorite thing to bake is our tasty French Macarons.
We have tons of macaron flavors such as lemon, raspberry, sea salt caramel, strawberry shortcake, vanilla, red velvet are just a few of what we offer. We are always experimenting in the kitchen to make more flavors.

Sophie's Sweets French Macarons will soon be available at Cafe Elk Grove located inside the newly built Community Center at District56. Sample them for free at District56's Grand Opening Celebration from 4pm to 7pm this coming Thursday, January 23rd.
